Lakewood Shores Golf Resort – The Wee Links Course Photos
Sometimes you don’t need a full bag of clubs, a golf cart, or four hours to have fun on a golf course.
Sometimes you just need a couple of clubs and a little course sitting right outside your room.
That’s how we ended up playing the Wee Links during our 2022 stay at Lakewood Shores Golf Resort in Oscoda.
We were there for a golf weekend with rounds scheduled on The Serradella and The Blackshire., but the Wee Links was right outside our accommodations.
What were we supposed to do?
Ignore it?
Obviously that wasn’t going to happen.
The Wee Links is an 18 hole pitch and putt course with short holes, small greens, bunkers, and a few water hazards thrown in just to make sure you don’t get too comfortable.
The holes range from around 50 to 105 yards, so you certainly don’t need to haul your entire golf bag around.
Grab two or three clubs and start walking.
That’s exactly what makes it fun.
There isn’t much pressure. You’re not worrying about pace of play, figuring out which tee box you’re using, or wondering whether you brought enough golf balls to survive the next four hours.
You’re just hitting little golf shots and trying to convince yourself that a 70 yard hole should be easy.
Should be.
Anyone who has played golf for very long knows how dangerous those words can be.
We had fun wandering around the Wee Links during our stay. With it being right outside our room, it was almost impossible not to grab a couple of clubs and head out whenever we had some extra time.
And after playing full rounds on the resort’s bigger courses, there was something nice about keeping golf simple.
A couple clubs.
A golf ball.
A short walk.
And absolutely no excuse for missing the green from 60 yards.
Although I’m pretty sure I managed to come up with one. ⛳
