The Crown Golf Course Photos
The Crown Golf Course is one of those Traverse City courses we keep coming back to.
We’ve played it plenty of times over the years, but somehow it took me until 2025 to finally do what I’m supposed to do for Golf Up North and take pictures of every hole.
Better late than never.
The Crown sits in a residential community just outside Traverse City, but once you’re out on the course, there are plenty of holes where the surrounding homes aren’t what you’re paying attention to.
You’re paying attention to the elevation.
And probably wondering where exactly you’re supposed to hit your next shot.
That’s part of what I like about The Crown.
It’s very playable, but it isn’t boring. There are elevation changes, some great views, and enough interesting holes to keep you thinking your way around the course.
I’ve always felt like I have a chance here.
That doesn’t necessarily mean I take advantage of that chance.
But it’s nice to have one.
The Crown can be on the pricier side, especially during the heart of the Northern Michigan golf season, but they do offer a locals rate. If you’re from the area, it’s definitely worth asking about when you book your round.
Another reason we keep coming back has absolutely nothing to do with golf.
We’ve eaten at Mulligan’s many times, and it’s one of our favorite places to eat in the area. The food is consistently good enough that we don’t need to be golfing at The Crown to have an excuse to stop in.
Although golfing first certainly makes dinner feel more deserved.
I played The Crown again this year with Patrick and Dom after the wedding. I didn’t take pictures that day.
I know.
I’m slipping.
But sometimes I don’t want to think about documenting the course. I just want to golf.
And getting out with the boys after all the activity surrounding the wedding was one of those rounds.
We had fun, I enjoyed The Crown just as much as I always do, and I got another reminder that some of my favorite rounds aren’t necessarily the ones where I play my best golf.
They’re the ones where I really enjoy the people I’m playing with.
Fortunately, I already did my job in 2025.
So the pictures below will take you hole by hole around The Crown.
The more recent round with Patrick and Dom?
That one I just got to enjoy. ⛳
