When the Masterpiece opened in 1987, Golf Digest named it the second-best new course in the country. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed this course with deep ravines, plentiful sand traps, tough pin placement, numerous water hazards, and constant elevation changes. The Masterpiece is widely considered the most challenging course at Treetops.
